The Femi Fakayode Screenwriting Competition (FFSC) 2026, organized by Zionhome Films, is officially open for entries. This annual Christian screenwriting competition is dedicated to discovering, nurturing, and rewarding talented faith-based screenwriters across Africa.

With cash prizes, industry recognition, and the opportunity for the winning script to be produced into a movie, FFSC 2026 offers an exceptional platform for storytellers who create edifying, Christ-centered narratives.
About the Femi Fakayode Screenwriting Competition (FFSC)
Launched in 2013, FFSC is an annual initiative founded by Femi Fakayode and powered by Zionhome Film Production, a film company operating in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

Over the years, the competition has expanded beyond Nigeria to include writers from other African countries, building a strong community of Christian creatives and promoting excellence in faith-based filmmaking.

Entries Open: 1st February 2026 (01:01 WAT)
Entries Close: 29th March 2026 (23:59 WAT)
Shortlist Announcement: 1st June 2026
Winners Announcement: 30th June 2026

₦250,000 (or equivalent)

Winning script will be produced into a movie

₦100,000 (or equivalent)

Who Can Apply?

Screenwriters from African countries
Writers of faith-based (Christian-themed) screenplays
Both emerging and experienced writers are welcome


Script Submission Requirements

Before submitting your entry, ensure your script meets the following criteria:
▪️Must be original, unpublished, and unproduced
▪️Written in screenplay format
▪️Word count: 8,000 – 12,000 words
▪️Language: English only
▪️Theme: Faith-based (Christian), any genre allowed
▪️File format: Microsoft Word only
▪️Writer’s personal details must not appear in the script

Applicants must post the FFSC 2026 official art design on Instagram and tag @ffsc_writers as a collaborator.

Important Notes for Applicants

▪️Submitted scripts cannot be edited after submission
▪️Review and proofread thoroughly before uploading
▪️Writers retain full ownership of their scripts
▪️First-place winners will be contacted before production begins
