World IP Day 2026 Youth Video Competition
Game Changers: IP Powering Sports Innovation
Innovation is changing the face of sports — from smart performance technology and wearable fitness devices to digital fan engagement platforms and revolutionary equipment designs. But behind many of these breakthroughs is something less visible yet incredibly powerful: Intellectual Property (IP).
To celebrate this connection between creativity, innovation, and sports, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has officially launched the World IP Day 2026 Youth Video Competition under the theme:
“Game Changers: IP Powering Sports Innovation.”
This global competition invites young people to create a 60–90 second video exploring how IP rights fuel innovation and creativity in the sports world.
What Is the Competition About?
The 2026 edition challenges participants to reflect on powerful questions:
How do IP rights empower inventors, creators, and entrepreneurs in sports?
How is innovation transforming the future of sports?
What role does creativity play in shaping the sports industry?
Participants are encouraged to tell a compelling story, spotlight a groundbreaking invention, or share an original idea that demonstrates how IP drives progress in sports.
Who Can Participate?
Open to individuals or groups (maximum of 10 participants).
You may enter either individually or as part of a group — not both.
At least one member of the group must be aged 18–35 at the time of submission.
Only one entry per person or group is allowed.

The World IP Day 2026 Youth Video Competition is more than a contest — it is an invitation to young innovators worldwide to become part of the next generation of game changers.
